Xinjiang International Land Port system alliance formed

The Silk Road of Xinjiang International Land Port System Construction and Development Forum was held on April 28. At the forum the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe district) signed cooperative agreements with seven cities including Kuitun to strengthen cooperation in commerce and trade, logistics, industry development and policy formation.

Zhu Gang, secretary of the CPC Toutunhe district committee, and Zhang Junxiang, deputy secretary of the CPC Toutunhe district committee and the district mayor, attended the signing ceremony.

The seven cities are: Kuitun, Horgos, Changji, Alashankou, Korla, Aksu, and Kashi.

According to the agreement, all parties will improve the mechanisms of cooperation and build a Xinjiang International Land Port System with multilateral coordination. They will strengthen cooperation in the making of policies for export-oriented industries and promote the regional cluster development of commerce and logistics. This will bring about a new pattern of growth featuring complementary platforms and coordinated development.

All parties will strengthen interconnectivity by making use of the logistics system of Xinjiang International Land Port and China-Europe Trains.

According to Ma Chunlei, member of the standing committee of Toutunhe district and deputy director of the construction committee of Xinjiang International Land Port Area, the area will play a key role in accessing the advantages of all logistics centers and improving economic development of export-oriented industries.
